Building long-term support for Rainbow Camp® and 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
Welcome Friend Foundation is a registered Canadian charity supporting Rainbow Camp®, 2SLGBTQ+ youth, allied youth, and affirming community programs across Northern Ontario and beyond.
The Foundation helps build long-term sustainability through donations, fundraising, community partnerships, legacy giving, and support for the search for a permanent home for Rainbow Camp®.
A foundation for belonging, safety, and long-term impact
Welcome Friend Foundation was created to strengthen and sustain charitable work that supports 2SLGBTQ+ youth, families, allies, and communities. Our role is to help secure the resources needed for programs, spaces, partnerships, and long-term projects that create safety, belonging, and connection.
We work closely with Welcome Friend Association and Rainbow Camp® to help ensure that donations and community support are connected to real, meaningful impact.

Supporting a life-changing camp experience
Rainbow Camp® is one of Canada’s important affirming camp programs for 2SLGBTQ+ and allied youth. It gives young people a place to experience friendship, leadership, creativity, community, and joy in an environment where they are welcomed and celebrated.
Welcome Friend Foundation supports the future of Rainbow Camp® by helping raise funds, build partnerships, and strengthen the long-term foundation needed for the program to continue and grow.
A safe, stable future for Rainbow Camp®
Rainbow Camp® is currently seeking a safe, stable, and permanent home. A long-term site would allow the program to grow, plan ahead with confidence, protect equipment and resources, and serve more youth, families, and communities over time.
A permanent home is not just about land or buildings. It is about creating a lasting place of belonging for 2SLGBTQ+ and allied youth.
What a permanent home could make possible
- More stable planning for camp sessions and retreats
- Safer storage for program supplies and equipment
- More opportunities for youth, families, elders, and allies
- Stronger long-term partnerships with donors and funders
- A lasting place of belonging in Northern Ontario
