Building belonging that lasts.
Welcome Friend Foundation is a registered Canadian charity helping build long-term support for Rainbow Camp®, 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allies, affirming community programs, and a permanent home designed to create connection across generations.
A foundation for belonging, safety, and long-term impact.
Welcome Friend Foundation was created to strengthen and sustain charitable work that supports 2SLGBTQ+ youth, families, allies, and communities. Our role is to help secure the resources needed for programs, spaces, partnerships, and long-term projects that create safety, belonging, and connection.
We work closely with Welcome Friend Association and Rainbow Camp® to help ensure that donations and community support are connected to meaningful, real-world impact.
Our charitable role
The Foundation helps bring together people and organizations who want to invest in stronger, more affirming communities.
- Fundraising and donor stewardship
- Support for Rainbow Camp®
- Major, legacy, and planned giving
- Community and business partnerships
- Long-term sustainability and capital projects
Rainbow Camp is at the heart of our work.
Rainbow Camp® gives 2SLGBTQ+ and allied youth a place to experience friendship, leadership, creativity, community, and joy in an environment where they are welcomed and celebrated.
Welcome Friend Foundation helps strengthen the future of Rainbow Camp® by raising funds, building partnerships, and helping create the financial foundation the program needs to continue and grow.
A permanent home for belonging.
Rainbow Camp® needs a safe, stable, long-term home. A permanent site would allow the program to plan ahead with confidence, protect equipment and resources, expand opportunities, and serve more people over time.
But the vision is larger than land or buildings. We are working toward a place where belonging can be built year-round.
- More stable planning for camps, retreats, and programs
- Safer storage and stronger long-term infrastructure
- More opportunities for youth, families, adults, older adults, and allies
- Stronger partnerships with donors, funders, and community organizations
- A lasting place of belonging in Northern Ontario
Belonging across generations.
Rainbow Camp® is at the heart of our work, but our vision reaches beyond summer camp. We are working toward a permanent, year-round home where 2SLGBTQ+ youth, adults, older adults, allies, and community partners can gather, connect, learn from one another, and build community across generations.
We imagine a place shaped by the energy of young people, the experience of older generations, and a shared commitment to creating communities where everyone can belong.
